Owner/Principal

Christie Ferguson is a seasoned human resources professional with over 25 years of experience spanning executive HR leadership, consulting, and post-secondary education. She currently teaches Human Resources courses at Conestoga College, where she brings real-world application into the classroom, helping future HR professionals connect theory to practice in areas such as recruitment and selection, training and development, HR and performance management, and strategic HR planning.

Christie is also the founder and current principal consultant of 1 Stop HR, an HR consulting firm she established in 2010 to support small and medium-sized businesses with practical, compliant, and business-aligned HR solutions. Through her consulting practice, she works closely with business owners, leadership teams, and managers to address complex employee relations matters, strengthen workplace documentation, build leadership capability, and implement effective HR initiatives.

Prior to launching 1 Stop HR, Christie spent 12 years in progressively senior HR leadership roles within diverse organizational environments, culminating in her role as Director of Human Resources. In these executive roles, she was responsible for developing HR strategy, managing workforce planning initiatives, overseeing employee relations and performance systems, and ensuring compliance with employment legislation.  

Christie specializes in employee relations, performance documentation, workplace investigations, recruitment and selection strategy, and management development. She is particularly known for helping organizations move from reactive HR practices to structured, proactive systems that reduce risk and strengthen workplace culture. Through her consulting and training initiatives, Christie equips leaders, managers, and employees with practical, real-world tools that build confidence, improve communication, and elevate workplace performance. Her programs are designed to translate complex HR and leadership concepts into clear, actionable strategies that drive measurable impact across the organization
